Christian Poetry Poems by Margie Martinez
Margie writes: My calling has been to minister to the grieving. In 2006, I decided that there was not enough grief poetry to minister to those suffering mankind's worst pain....the loss of a loved one. I have self-published several books that are available by contacting me through e-mail: broncos7@windstream.net."
Last Dance By Margie Martinez
How I Wish You Could Have Stayed, For Just Another Day
I’d Never Waste A Moment, Wouldn’t Let Time Slip Away
Life Is Empty Without You, I’d Love To Hold Your Hand
But Time Just Seemed To Slip Away, Like An Hourglass’ Sand
If I Could Have Just One More Day, If I Could Have One Chance
To Tell You Things I Never Said, And Never Miss The Dance
To Hear Our Favorite Music, Drive Into The Setting Sun
Share One More Cup Of Coffee, But So Much Will Stay Undone
I Guess I Took For Granted, Didn’t Think I’d See This Day
Now All I Have Are Wishes, That You Hadn’t Gone Away
All I Asked Was One More Day, But It Just Couldn’t Be
Wished For Just A Bit More Time, In Vain, I Clearly See
For When The Hourglass Emptied, To The Final Grain Of Sand
Dreams Were Shattered, Time Had Passed, For Everything We’d Planned
No More Days, No More Time, Not One Second Chance
To Live Life To The Fullest, Or Even One Last Dance

An Invitation By Margie Martinez
I Know You’ve Waited Patiently, And I Should Let You In
But Often I’m Not Thinking, As Each New Day Begins
Still You Send Me Sunshine, To Light My Every Day
And I Know That I Should Thank You, But Instead I Go Away
No Time For Conversation, Though You’d Love To Hear My Story
But I Am Much Too Busy, Often Straying From Your Glory
How Ever Will I Truly Find, The Answers Or Solutions
If I’m Not Even Asking You, To Clear All The Confusion
Still You Wait In Spite Of That Elusive Invitation
Knowing All The While, That If I Had The Inclination
To Ask You, “Come Into My Life”, Then Open Up The Door
And Let You Live Inside My Heart, And Worry Never More
It Would Make A Difference, Just Knowing You Are Near
If I Gave My Sentiments A Voice, And Spoke My Worries Clear
I Know That You Would Listen, But It’s I That Fails To Bend
Never Speaking With You, When My Day Comes To An End
I Know That I Must Make More Time, Beginning With Today
To Listen When You Quietly Speak, And Not Turn You Away
Come Into My Life Lord, I Won’t Let You Stand Outside
Waiting Quietly, Patiently, Your Arms Stretched Open Wide

Just Ask By Margie Martinez
One Look From Him Can Part The Sea
This Man Who Died For You And Me
One Touch From Him Can Raise The Dead
By A Simple Hand Upon The Head
One Word From Him Can Save The Thief
Through Agony, Still, He Sends Relief
This Man Who Fed The Multitudes
Then Died For You As Living Proof
That All You Need To Do Is Ask
It’s Not Beyond Him, Any Task
Including Mending Broken Hearts
When Loved Ones From Our Midst Depart
Lay Your Cares Upon The One
Who Laid To Rest His Only Son
Like You, He Mourned A Loss That Day
As Soldiers Carried His Son Away
He Knows Just How You Must Be Feeling
How Your Mind, Today, Is Surely Reeling
Still All You Need To Do Is Ask
He’ll Bear Your Pain Upon His Back…..Just Ask

Eternity By Margie Martinez
How Long Will I Miss You
Will This Trail Reach An End
It May Take All Eternity
My Broken Heart To Mend
Until The Years Run Out Of Time
Until All Poets Run Out Of Rhyme
Until The Rivers All Run Dry
Until My Eyes Have Ceased To Cry
I Will Love You
Until The Moon Has Lost Its Glow
When Summertime Has Pure White Snow
And When The Sun Shall Cease To Shine
Maybe Then This Heart Of Mine
May Learn How Not To Miss You
Eternity Is Forever
This I Know Is True
And It Will Take Eternity
To Get Over Losing You

The Irony of Life By Margie Martinez
A Newborn In The Nursery Wakes At 12, 2, 4 And 6
There Are Diapers To Be Changed, And Many Bottles To Be Fixed
You're Tired From Not Sleeping, But A New Job's On The Line
You Groan “one day I Will Have It All”, All I Need Is Time
The Daily Grind To Get Ahead, Seems More Than One Should Bear
And All You Really Want To Do, Is Plop Down In A Chair
But A Child Needs Attention, There's Homework To Be Done
And The Clock Is Moving Faster, Towards The New Day Soon To Come
There Are Ladders To Be Climbed, Many Fires To Put Out
There's Never Enough Money, And Always Too Much Doubt
There's A Son To Put Through College, And A Daughter's Wedding Day
But The Clock Keeps Moving Faster, And Your Hair Is Turning Gray
Finally All Is Said And Done, It Seems You Have It All
When The Phone Rings Very Anxiously, With A Most Important Call
You Hear A Tiny Whimper, In The Background, And You're Told
That You Are Now Grandparents, And Somehow That Feels Old
Shadows Gently Start To Fall, Life's Daylight Turns To Night
You Look Back And Ask Yourself, Was Everything Done Right
Your Children Gather All Around, There's One Last Stair To Climb
Finally You Have Everything, But Now There's No More Time

The Promise By Margie Martinez
Through The Endless Darkness
I Will Be Your Light
In Your Mortal Weakness
I Will Hold You Tight
Through Your Mournful Sorrow
I Will Bear Your Pain
I Will Send You Sunshine
And I Can Stop The Rain
I Will Heal Your Broken Heart
I Hold It In My Care
And One Thing Is For Certain
Forever I'll Be There
I Will Be Your Guiding Light
To Help You Carry On
My Shoulder You May Borrow
To Gently Lean Upon
......Love, Jesus

A Mystery By Margie Martinez
Will I Ever Find True Peace Again
Or Will It Be A While
So Much Remains Unanswered
Road Ahead Seems Endless Miles
God Simply Smiles And Says
Before There Was A Butterfly
It Was But A Dark Cocoon
Till You Were Born A Baby
You Slept In A Darkened Womb
Before There Was A Rainbow
There Came Dark And Dreary Clouds
Before I Rose Up From The Grave
I Lay Covered In A Shroud
All That Seems Forbidden
All You Think Is Lost
Is Not, If You Trust In Me
For You I Paid The Cost
My Ways Are Not Your Ways
And They’re Hard To Understand
But Please Be Still, I Promise
Your Life Is In My Hands

Be Still and Know By Margie Martinez
Every Angel Softly Cried
For The Little Child That Quietly Died
Then Carried Him Gently, Upon Their Wings
While A Choir Above Them Gently Sings
You Come To Us Child, Much Too Soon
Drifting Past A Golden Moon
Leaving The World Far Behind
For A Place That’s Warm, And Safe, And Kind
And Yes, Even The Angels Cried
But Heaven’s Door Swung Open Wide
Come Inside Child, Here I Am
Then Lifted High, His Smallest Lamb
....And God Smiled
Be Still And Know That He Is God

When You’re Not Strong By Margie Martinez
Lean On Me, When You’re Not Strong
And I Will Show The Way
I Will Lighten Burdens
That Fill Your Heart This Day
Lean On Me, I Will Lay You Down
Where Peaceful Waters Flow
Trust That I Am Near You
Wherever You May Go
Let Me Be The Cornerstone
The Light That Guides Your Way
Call On Me, I’ll Listen
To What You Have To Say
Lean On Me, Don’t Go Alone
Yes, I Will Be Your Friend
I’ll Be Your Strength To Carry On
Beginning, To The End
.......Jesus.......

A Season For Living By Margie Martinez
For Everything There Is A Season
To Every End There Is A Reason
At God’s Will We Came To Be
And Reaped The Harvest Of Destiny
Look About You'll Find His Plan
Oh There Is One For Every Man
The Road Ahead Is Yours Alone
Until The Day God Calls You Home
Do Your Best, There's Just One Chance
Don't Waste It All On Fun And Dance
Sow Good Seeds, While In The Season
Each Day You Live, Look For The Reason
Understand We Came To Be
To Reap The Harvest Of Destiny
Look About To Find God’s Plan
Yes, There Is One For Every Man

What Do I Tell Me? By Margie Martinez
Morning Comes, And You’re Still Gone, Our Children Ask Me Why
I Say You Left, But Not For Long, While Silently I Cry
Friends Still Ask Me How I’ve Been, My Answer, “Doing Fine”
If They Could See The Simple Truth, I’ve Lost All Track Of Time
Seems I Have The Answers, Convinced Without A Doubt
Seems I’m Moving On Just Fine, Have All Things Figured Out
But When I Look Into A Mirror, Such Loneliness I See
I Simply Have To Wonder, What Do I Tell Me?
I Can’t Say That You’re Coming Back, I Know It Isn’t True
I Can’t Say That I’m Moving On, It’s Impossible Without You
So Again I Look Into My Eyes, Ask God To Help Me See
That I Might Trust And Listen, To What He Says To Me
