Roland writes: "I am new to writing Christian poetry. I do short articles on a couple of sites which deal with scripture verses. I have written a few short books on Christian subjects, but have yet to have them published."
The Word existed from the start
Of the Holy Trinity He is part.
He was with God when all began
Yes, even for creation of man.
It is through Him all things were made
It is for us His life He gave.
The Word, it for us is life
As this life, it brings us light.
This light shines even in the dark,
While truly leaving its spiritual mark.
The light of life from Him did sprout,
And the dark never shall put it out.
The Word, it came from heaven above
He came full of grace, truth, and love.
The Word into flesh was made
Incarnate, our souls to save.
And among us He did dwell
Of the Father He did tell.
And they did see of His glory
As this was like no other story.
For this is the glory of the Son
That in the Father all is done.
The Son is full of truth and grace
As for our sin He took our place.
God’s Son came to us as man
That before the Father one day we stand
And Christ shall stand there by our side
As we see heaven, far and wide.

Of your joy Lord we do pray,
In our heart and soul that it shall stay.
True joy that comes only from You,
Not to many, but to the few,
Abiding in your steadfast way,
From them you never hear a nay.
For in it, we do abound,
Joy filled voices, you hear the sound.
And of your peace, do we desire,
As hearts and souls be set afire,
With the peace that can only be,
Of one that has been set free,
Of evil desire and sin enslavement,
Which knocked us down, down to the pavement.
With your joy and with your peace,
Comes your love, which shall never cease.

A fire, it burns within our heart.
From where did it come? Oh, how did it start?
Do we know from where it comes?
Not all would know, but maybe some.
It is the fire of the Spirit within,
The One who tells us of our sin.
That we may humbly return to Christ, our Savior.
Seeking forgiveness and His favor.
Then freed of sin and bondage
To our Lord do we give homage.
The fire it burns within our heart,
As from our Lord we’re not apart.
The Spirit’s fire resides within our soul,
For of this we do truly know,
The Father, Son, and Spirit within us dwell,
As of three it is that we do tell.
